Roleplay with RomanPunks
Community engagement and worldbuilding enhanced through a roleplay system that rewards participants.
RomanPunks is a retrofuturistic, cyberpunk-derivative worldbuilding project. Worldbuilding means developing the setting, themes, story arcs and most importantly, the characters. RomanPunk character names and brief backstories have been devised by the creators.
Now the community has the power to take it to the next level by developing character personalities further through social media, wikis, cosplay and RPGs. And players are rewarded for it, through ongoing contests, challenges and the benefits that increased social engagement mean for the project as a whole.
Roleplay Epochs
A series of ‘epochs’ are proposed, to enhance and refine character development and roleplay over time.
Epoch I— Text-friendly social media channels
Using Twitter, Reddit, Tumblr and other popular sites, social engagement will be enhanced through roleplay focused on text, gif and meme communication.
Epoch II— WIKI Development
The development of a RomanPunks WIKI is how the worldbuilding will all come together. A WIKI is a crowd sourced website, so there is opportunity for community members to contribute and be rewarded
Epoch III— Metaverse Cosplay
Playing characters on The Sandbox, Decentraland, Facebook Oculus, etc. by having RomanPunk avatars that meet at various metaverse events is a great way to move the roleplay to the next level.
Epoch IV— IRL Cosplay
RomanPunks creators and members are frequently attending gaming and NFT conferences worldwide, which is a great opportunity to appear in costume representing your character.
Epoch V— Fully-fledged Online RPG
Development of a high quality computer-based RPG takes time, but sales and success of the project in the future will facilitate the development of one in which members can develop their characters further.

RomanPunks is an independent, crypto-based fine art world-building movement inspired by history and the cyberpunk aesthetic. We find inspiration from 20th-century culture and science fiction authors including Wiliam Gibson, Philip K. Dick, and Harry Turtledove while being guided by professional work and academic studies in ancient history, art history, illustration, and blockchain technology.
